South Goa

  1.   2. St. Augustine Tower - This church was abandoned in 1835 after the Portuguese government of Goa began evicting many religious orders in Goa under its new repressive policies. The subsequent neglect caused the vault of the church to collapse in 1842. The body collapsed soon after and by 1871, the bell was moved from the tower to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church in Panjim, where it remains to date. The ruins were featured in the song Gumnaam Hai Koi from the 1965 suspense thriller movie Gumnaam and 'Saathiya' from the Bollywood hit Singham.
  3. Bom Jesus Basilica - This beautiful church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the oldest churches of Goa. A silver casket shelters the body of St Francis Xavier in a mausoleum at the top. For the historical enthusiasts, the Bom Jesus Basilica Art Gallery exhibits the works of Dom Martin, a Goan painter.
  4. Se Cathedral de Santa Catarina - One of the largest churches in India and dedicated the cathedral to Saint Catherine. The Se Cathedral has Corinthian style interiors and exteriors impress with their perfect Tuscan style architecture. 
  5. Mangueshi Temple - This beautifully intricate, simple, well designed and elegant structure has interesting seven-storeyed lamp tower or deepstambha stands, posited in the temple complex. A tranquil and calm water body, which is said to be the oldest section of the temple soothes the senses and builds religious value.
  6. Tirupati Balaji Temple - Tirupati Balaji temple one of the famous temple in India.The atmosphere on this temple is very much good. In there you can observe a fresh air and you can know many thing about the mythology. The temple is situated amidst verdant lawns and is enveloped by a sense of serenity.The temple has been blessed by His Holiness Jagadguru Sankaracharya of the Kanchikamakoti Peetam. Dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara, Lord Ganesha, and Goddess Padmavati.

Fort Aguada is one of the best places to visit in North Goa.
